tuscanlifeedit - Well this is even more off topic than your question but we are in Chattanooga for the weekend and what a wonderful place Chattanooga is. We are sort of babysitting our granddaughter while our daughter participates in a triathlon (reduced to a biathlon because of flooding) tomorrow. Just got back from a nice dinner where way too much wine was consumed - we have had a really fun day. I love Chattanooga.
OK - so back to your question. You have probably already found this but below is a link to a list of her novels in order. I started with the first one and have read them in order. I'm now on "A Question of Belief". There are a couple of other fodors regular posters that you may know who also like Donna Leon (annhig and ekscrunchy) so you may want to give them a shout out for their opinions but here is my two cents worth. I think it would be best to read them in order but I also think each book stands on it's own. These stories are not the Dan Brown gripping type but are just really enjoyable. They don't really build on previous novels so I don't think you can go wrong starting with any one of them - but starting at the beginning worked well for me.
Oh lord, 6 o'clock is going to come early tomorrow morning!!!

john: Chattanooga and babysitting sounds great. We spent the day with our grandkids, at the mall, so their mom could shop for an upcoming trip. A lot of fun for us, but so exhausting.
I said to Enrico, who is 2.5 and verbal, "I sleep very well after I spend time with you." He said, "I go to bed really nice after I spend time with you." I'm not sure what that means, but it was damn cute.
I don't think DH likes Dan Brown. Me, I don't know from popular fiction, but I do know he likes mysteries and detective stories. I will grab one of these from the library to get him started.
Thanks.

Ouch. My head still hurts from too much wine Saturday night. Fun and exhausting is right when it comes to grandkids. Kids are so advanced these days - 2.5 and verbal - wow (the scary thing is he probably knows what verbal means)! Pretty soon they will be talking the day they are born....
hanabilly - Jeez - I wonder what the heck I was thinking - I'm not really sure how the ability to filibuster is golden. Oh well. Any luck with the picture uploading project?

Ha ha! Okay, I feel better now, not really getting it! Tried to imagine all the filibustering possibilities, and none of them made me look golden...oh well- you had Grandson lag.
Making some glacier-like progress on the photos, and even about to finish up the trip report! (I decided to type and edit in Word to avoid that "what was I thinking?" moment.)

Smart thinking using Word!! I really wish there was a way we could edit our own fodor's posts. I would certainly fix some of my many "I really wasn't thinking at all when I wrote this" posts...

The worst is when I wrote after dinner while still on the trip-it's great for sharing the enthusiasm of the fantastic day, but there's far too likely a possibility of sharing the effects of dinner's beverage as well. But hey, this is the Italy forum, right?
