Cinque Terre - from Venice or Florence
Which of the following is the easiest way to get to Cinque Terre?
Our overall route is flying into Venice, then Florence, flying out of Rome. Which makes more sense - to train from Venice to Cinque Terre, then train from CT to Florence.... Or Train Venice to Florence, then take an overnight trip to CT from Florence? Or - would be better served to rent a car to get there...and if so - from Venice or from Florence? |
We trained from Padua, just outside Venice to CT. It takes about 6 hours. The trip from CT to Florence is about 3 hours max so probably not best suited for an overnight. May depend on where you are flying home from. You know you don't have to use same city for both incoming and outgoing flight.

Train much faster, cheaper and convenient than car.

Oh - and I didn't mean an overnight train from Florence - I meant, train from Florence and spend a night in CT |
Hi pam,
If you check the train schedules at www.trenitalia.com you will see that Venice-CT-Florence takes 3 hrs longer on the train than V-F-CT. It also requires more changes. ((I)) |
