cinque terre accomodations in September - can we "wing it"?

the lodgings mentioned on Fodors and TA are only the tip of the iceberg, those palces that have cottoned on to Internet-based travel research, or IB travellers post and then all IB'ers stay there. Believe me there are many more, most with websites, but don't show up here, I would also try a google search.

But again for Goingtoitaly, I would not worry about finding a place in Cinque Terre in September w/o a booking, and that comes from someone (me) who hates to travel without knowing where I will sleep in comfort in advance. Your BF is looking for an adventure and that's what you will find, perhaps it won't be as nice as if you had spend hours of agonizing choice on-line, or perhaps it will be nicer and you will write about the next magic place. Thats how folks find new places, by stepping off-line (LOL), Relax, enjoy and blame it on BF if you don't find a nice place.

Sampaguita, thank you for your "reassuring" post! When I saw Gia's post I did feel a bit panicked, and sent an email off to one of the B&B's I'd like to stay at. I haven't heard back from them yet, but had already decided that if we didn't find a nice place to stay in or around CT that I would blame my BF! lol!!! I do find that when I do web searches what tends to come up first are the Fodor's, Slow Travel and Trip Advisor posts. Any suggestions on what to search for that might get me away from the IB favorites?

grazie mille

You could either try Google Italia, set for only Italian answers, or this site for Cinque Terre with Hotels
