Lovely report, Mimi! I'm taking friends for a few days in July and I'm going to review your restaurants. Thanks also for reminding me about a lovely evening I enjoyed onion soup at Pied au cochon after an evensong at St. Eustache.

Mimi, what a lovely trip that must have been; I loved reading your report. I must have missed some earlier threads so I don't know if you stayed in a hotel or apt., etc.

Whoops, just re-reading and see that you mentioned an apt. in your second sentence; sorry to have skimmed over that.

Hi Mimi,

Ed and I wish we could go back to Le Comptoir and do that night all over again...it was special!

Miss you!

Ahh, les memoirs.

Back Saturday night and up with jet lag, I hope to start my trip report soon.

Glad Pastis survived your absence and all is well at home.

We will always have Paris.

Looks like you kept really busy, Cigale. I'm glad you had a great trip, but that's terrible about your ring. Maybe someone will pick it off the sidewalk and offer it to passing tourists.

Looks like we've crossed the pond at the same time! But instead of Paris, I've been in Switzerland and Germany and am now in Amsterdam. You are so right about the fashion. I don't care what I pack for a trip to Europe, I'm always dressed like a tourist. I don't own any skirts that are half straight, half pleated, half solid color, half wild print, and then matching tights!!! Plus pink boots!! Wish I had a photo....

See you in BOS in October!

Wow, you guys really did a lot. I am working on my trip report which should be easy since we didn't do much compared to you. It was great seeing you in Paris again this time!

What a lovely report. I am sorry for your lost ring, gloves and cream. But in spite of these losses you seemed to have a great trip.
I am heading for Paris this spring and I empathized with your remark about wishing to have a lover. Several years ago I lost my beloved husband after 43 years of marriage and though I still make my annual trips to Europe I do miss having someone to share the experiences with.
In any event I so enjoy reading your reports, and discovering new places and cafes to go to.
Thanks again for sharing.

what I bought:
Voltaren Gel,
Intralgis,
A large Cigale at Dayrolle pinned in the shadow box,
Guerande Fleur de Sel,
Lavender Honey,
Amora mustard. Though it looks like that awful ball park mustard, It's very good and spicy,
Sempre book, QuelQues Philosophes,
Paris flea market scarf, An army green cotton jacket
when the days turned hot.

Thanks to Traviata (sandi) and Ed for walking me to the metro
after the Comptior.

To Dick for all the Croissant and oyster trips,
to Nikki, Abby, Tomas, Marcy, Ellen for adding to our trip
by being with friends.

To Miki, (I call my seeing eye doll) for getting us to wherever we are going, reading the metro maps.

PS, the trip to the Tuilleries was to see the works of a Japaneese scultor. There were only two pieces that were supposed to be flowers. Vivid colors in distorted forms.
Waste of our time. Everything was grey there, nothing in bloom.

I am so glad you had a very nice time in Paris.

Glad you liked my recommendation for Pre Verre, too.

Is "The Gardener Prince" still on the ground floor of Deyrolle?

Stella McCartney showed big fruit prints and Givenchy showed big leaf and flower prints last year, so I thought they would trickle down to a place like Zara this year.

Welcome back to Cambridge!

Your old, old friend,
Pepper

Just a non-fun question: is Intralgis different from our ibuprofen products here in USA?
I tried to buy Aleve last year in Paris, and they said I could not w/o a Rx.

I like your "fun" purchases, too; I will bring back some salt from my upcoming trip, also.

thanks Marianna.
grandmere, The Intralgis has a higher dose.
We also went to the Metro boutique but it moved from the
Les Halles spot to another section but a smaller selection. They didn't have the yellow metro t-shirt I wanted.
