Ciao Everyone!!!!!!!!!! I am back
Ciao, back again to the good USA!!! We had a wonderful time in Europe.... Everyone was nice when I asked for directions, of course,I have a lots of charm... :):)the only one that was rude, was a sourface, arrogant bus driver in Paris that kept mumbling when I asked for directions , obviously he did not want to be understood, anyway, I kind laughed at his face , left the bus and took the metro to Montmartre.
Must go now, Ciao, Kismet |
Glad you had a great visit!
Please let us know which hotels you stayed at and how they were. Thanks. |
Francophile03,
When I go to Rome I always stay at the Hotel Parlamento...It is off Via Del Corso, walking distance to all the major sights, also if you desire to have the AC , it will cost an extra 11 dollars per day. It is a nice clean, safe place . In Cinque Terre I made the reservation with Paganetto, at the moment I dont have the webb address, Gisella the owner is a wonderful lady, we rented the apt. for a week, a very nice and modern apt. with all the conveniences, washer, refrigerator etc... In Paris we stayed at the Bonaparte, great location and price with the AC also. We had a triple room, quite large, with a fireplace, huge antique mirror on top, high ornate ceilling , a nice balcony, and a tiny refrigerator in the room. We paid 152 at night, quite a bargain , and breakfeast was included also. We stayed there 4 days...The remaining days in Italy and France we stayed with family and friends. My cousin lives in Avignon and my sister live at at Mejannes, a charming small village 45 km from Avignon. |

Welcome back, Kismet!
I can't wait to read your trip report, especially about your time in the Cinque Terre - and how you liked staying in Manarola. Can't wait for my turn - we leave October 1st! |
Thanks Gina, by the way I had a glass of wine in your honor june 23 at manarola.....Truly loved the place, we had a great time and hope to go back there someday!!
I wrote a report about CT. in a previous post..CT Heaven on Earth, I need to add our trip to France also... Ciao, Kismet |
What is this american obsession with rudeness? It is pathetic, why should everyone be polite? why can't americans just get over the fact that the service industry in europe is not Disney???
|
Kismet: I'm sure you enjoyed that glass of wine on June 23rd! I thought of you that day and my birthday wish was "I wish I was sitting at an outdoor cafe in Manarola overlooking the Mediterranean drinking a glass of the Cinque Terre wine with Kismet!"
Since I'm also going back to Paris next spring, I look forward to your report on your time there too. So far, it sounds like you had a great time; however, how could you not - visiting two such beautiful countries! |
