Churchill's Chartwell

Has anybody toured Churchill's estate of Chartwell? Is it worth taking the time to tour?

Toured it about 15 years ago and found the house and the gardens very worthwhile. It's in a really lovely area and not very far from London. You certainly should go if you have more than a passing interest in Churchill.

Also found Blenheim to be a fascinating place to visit. Lots of Churchill memorabilia, beautiful paintings and furnishings, etc.

As a churchill buff, it was the highlight of my trip. It was fabulous to see where Winston prowled, especially during his wilderness years. If you have a interest in Churchill or WWII, vy worthwhile. If history is not your thing, perhaps try something else.
Hever castle is close if you are in the area with a car. Cheers

I LOVE Chartwell. All the castles and stately homes are wonderful but Chartwell is entirely different. Really comfortable, and "lived in" but still very posh. The grounds and gardens are are also beautiful. And you can visit Winston's painting studio.

Plus it is near Hever Castle which makes a convenient "two for" day trip.
