Church services at London landmarks/Lion King at the Lyceum

Last year I went to a Mattins/readings service at St. Paul's. Next month in London again...are there services at Westminster that the public can attend on Sunday mornings?

I just got tickets today for the Lion King at the Lyceum!! I called the ticket office once per day hoping seats were returned. Today I was lucky! Ber persistent in your quest is my new advice. ~~Lu

Westminster Abbey has services on most days, and has Morning Prayer (sung) and Evensong (sung) on Sundays. (At least they did 6 years ago when I went.) Very beautiful music.

Those attending the services, at that time, were entitled to sit next to the choir stall area without paying admission.
I just returned from London, and an Ascension Day service at Westminister Abbey was the highlight of the entire trip for me! Do try to attend a service if you can. According to the program for the service, at least during June, Sunday services are as follows:
0800 Holy Communion; 1000 Matins; 1115 Abbey Eucharist; 1500 Evensong; 1745 Organ Recital; 1830 Congregational Service. There is also a Sung Eucharist at 1100 in St. Margaret's next door to the Abbey. Hope you get to go to one!
I attended the 10am Matins on Sunday morning at Westminster Abbey April 1999 and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We were seated on the very front row next to the alter. Make sure and return for a guided tour of the Abbey by a verger. You won't be disappointed.

Attended service at St Pauls a few years ago and was deeply disappointed. As a 'high church' episcopalian, I found the service at St Pauls very pedestrian indeed.

Responding to my own post?? What!!?? Has anyone been to Westminster Cathedral for a Catholic service? I have 5 days to do a zillion things with my daughter and if we go to an 8:00am service at Westminster, we can hop on the tube and take the Beatles Original London Walk at 11:00am.

Is Westminster Cathedral wonderful? Their website is beautful. Thank you all!~~~Lu
