Try a kubocha squash creme brule for dessert. You can substitute pumpkin if you can't find that squash. Absolutely fantastic.

Betsy:
Your "jets" sound like "Martha Washington Candy" popular here in Alabama. Actually, I make a version we call Bourbon Balls: powdered sugar, butter, finely chopped nuts, and bourbon, rolled into balls (tiny, because they're very rich), refrigerated, then dipped in chocolate.

Everybody loves them. I have a double batch "curing" in the refrigerator, ready for Christmas Eve.

What a terrible time for your mixer to give it up! How in the world did our mothers and grandmothers cook without mixers, processors, and microwaves?

Whoa Byrd! How about posting the measurements in your Martha Washington recipe? The recipe sounds more interesting sound than my butter, powdered sugar and vanilla centers. How long do you let them cure?

LOL, my new replacement mixer weighs about as much as I do, and there's not room anywhere in the kitchen to store the behemoth. Am contemplating a quick return to Costco!

Oops, I'd like the bourbon ball version, Byrd.
Thanks!

Topping for Byrd's recipe!
