Christmas ornaments in London

Looked but didn't see a post for this, so thought I'd ask. Have any of you found a place to buy Christmas ornaments in London. Like many, we have a family tradition of getting a Christmas ornament for each place we visit and will be in London Sep 28-30.

I also collect Christmas ornaments when I travel and it may easier to find Christmas ornaments in September than at other times of the year. I have been to Paris and London twice, once in April and once in June and it was difficult to find much of a selection. I found some cheap Christmas ornaments in both cities but because I am rather picky, I did not find any that I liked. I did, however, find some very nice Christmas ornaments at London Heathrow airport. They have some very nice shopping areas. I have also found that some museums have nice gift shops with ornaments. But then again, it depends on the time of the year. Good luck.

Rumor has it that Harrod's has already opened its Christmas shop to snag the well-healed tourist. Other great shops for holiday ornaments are the gift shop at the V & A and the gift shop at the Tower of London. Like you, we enjoy bringing ornaments home from our travels. When we can't find ornaments, we look for small remembrances that can be adapted. Therefore we have Greek dolls, a couple of leprechauns, and a small brass Eifel Tower hanging from our tree each year.

Harrods, The Tower of London gift shop, Westminster Abbey gift shop, the V&A, National Gallery - just everywhere.

Definitely Liberty (on Regent St).

They usually have amazing Christmas displays.

The Christmas shop is generally in the basement - though whether it'll be open in Sept is another matter....

Look in the gift shops of various museums--the shop at the Royal Mews had much to choose from. Also look in the gift shops at St. Paul's and Westminster Abbey. Harrod's will be very expensive for ornaments and everything else.

I bought unusual glass ornaments and lights from Habitat on Kings Road. The V&A museum also had lovely ornaments. I have an art deco house and got some great art deco hanging ladies.

Bizarrely the London Selfridges Christmas shop is already open, down in the basement.

Loads of London themed decorations as well as those of a more traditional bent...

The gift shop at the Wallace Collection had some beautiful Christmas ornaments when we visited in December 2006.

When I went in March several years ago, there were many very pretty ones in the Crown Jewels gift shop at the Tower.
