Christmas in Munich

I am spending December 23-27 in Munich . I will be traveling alone , and would love to hear recommendations for music, traditional chrsitmas dinner , and other options for entertainment

This is going to be difficult! On the 24th you could stay in the hotel, people have other things to do than working for you at that day :D. The 25th has to be well planned. Entertainment? Not really, you'll have to wait until the 31st for the BIG parties.

How about the Ratskeller? Wouldn't it be open on the 24th? It's reasonable & has decent traditional German food.

It'll be closed, but a list of open restaurants can be found at www.muenchen.de

For music: In the past they had different Alpine musical groups playing in the Rathaus balcony so you can enjoy the music as you wander around the christmas market during the early evening. We need Logos to confirm it. You can check out the different Gluhwein stands to keep yourself warm.

Although you may be of a different religious persuasion, you may enjoy the Christmas music in the Munich cathedral and some of the other churches. Check their schedule.

Keep in mind, that in Germany there are 2 Christmas holidays - - the 25th and 26th of December

I don't have any idea but I'll be in Munich the end of November for a week and will post any ideas I may have after my travels.

The christmas market will finally close at 2pm on the 24th. The groups will play between 5.30pm and 6pm all the other days.
