Christmas in Europe

I would be interested to know your favorite Christmas destination in Europe and why.

Prague.

we had a great few days there between Christmas and New Year a few years ago. a great christmas market, nice concerts, good food, not too expensive, lots to see and do...Budapest was good too, the year after.

years ago we went skiiing in Italy at Christmas, and that too was a lot of fun.

We loved Salzburg--New Years Eve there is fantastic and good ski buses.

Also loved Garmisch Partenkirschen. That's the part of the world where Christmas as we know it was invented.

We really enjoyed 4 days in Bruges in 2007 and 4 days in Strasbourg in 2008. They both have lovely lights up and wonderful Christmas markets!

Yes, Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Salzburg -- just revel in the atmosphere!
