Hello Heather,

Not much chance of finding anywhere warm and sunny in Europe at Christmas! It's definitely not beach weather in December. You're best chance might be the Canary Islands.

Maybe you're heading to the wrong hemisphere. How about Bondi Beach?

Steve

How about a luxury ski resort with a sauna?

We spent Dec 25-Dec 31 in Paris and London last winter. It was mostly overcast with some rain (heavy at times), and not very cold. One day was brighter, and the last day was nice sunny weather.
We enjoyed it regadless. No matter what the weather is you can still spend time in numerous museams, and the crowds are not as bad. You will not enjoy a sidewalk cafe, however.

I would suggest you to spend 3 days in Madrid or Barcelona as a start, then fly directly to Lanzarote, spend 6 days there and make a day trip to Fuerteventura Island by boat and finally fly from Lanzarote to La Palma and spend 4 days there. The weather is likely to be great, generally mild and sunny, but you will see absolutely different landscapes and some nice villages as Sta Cruz de la Palma, Haria or Teguise. Good and varied accommodation in Lanzarote and The Parador/Hacienda de San Jorge, Sol Elite La Palma or Taburiente Playa in
La Palma Island. I am sure you will like this trip as I did!!!
