Christmas in Barcelona

We ( family of 4 with 2 college age/ young adult children) will be spending Christmas week in Barcelona. Any suggestions on what to do on Christmas? I know many shops are closed on the 26th as well. Thanks

Through all of Christmas week - even on Christmas eve - Olga Pericet - voted best female flamenco dancer 2011 by Spanish critics - dances at Tablao Cordobés in Las Ramblas, 35. The restaurant is also open. Dinner and show is 75€. Closed on New Years Eve.

Pericet is joined by - among others - Marco Flores who made his definitive breakthrough at the prestigious flamenco festival in Jerez this year. Here are the two together in a recent flamenco documentary called Flamenco del Raíz (Flamenco from the Roots): http://vimeo.com/46873792

Have a look at "A Catalan Christmas" in NYT. This article will tell you what to expect for your time there.

I think Barcelona is one of the best European cities where to spend Christmas. You'll find some Catalan Christmas traditions (which means you won' t find them anywhere else in Spain), that are pretty curious and for this reason definitely shouldn't be missed.
