Christmas in Alsace

We will be in Alsace for the second week in December, and will be staying in Colmar. We will have a car and will be able to get around. Does anyone know the best (i.e., most romantic and charming) Christmas Markets in the area? Which are the prettiest towns (including the Route du Vin towns) during the Christmas season? Any other suggestions for special Christmas sights in Alsace?

Strasbourg has a fine Christmas market.

Another vote for the xmas market in Strasbourg. There are also nice ones in Riquewihr and Kayserberg but you may want to check on the days they are held as I think they might be only on the weekends.

Strasbourg is supposed to be THE Christmas Market of Markets...begins first week in Dec. Here is one site:

I have French friends who own some places in Riquewhr, which is a walled ancient village. I was there last fall. It is one of the villages that you would want to see.

Enjoy
