Christmas Eve in Salzburg

Further to my post of May 26, we will indeed be in Salzburg on Christmas Eve, probably arriving from Innsbruck around lunchtime, and will spend the next four nights there.

I'm not worried about filling Christmas Day, as some museums, etc will be open, but I'm a bit stuck on what to do Christmas Eve. I understand the Advent markets and businesses will close around 2 pm. We'll probably have had our fill of them anyway, having been in Germany and Innsbruck for the previous 10 days.

The Silent Night Chapel in Oberndorf seems to be a popular Christmas Eve destination, but frankly, it sounds too popular for my tastes. As does the guided walk from Arnsdorf to the chapel.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to spend Christmas Eve? I'm thinking Advent music or a church service might be the way to go, but have yet to find any specifics.

Any suggestions on specific activities? Any suggestions on where to have dinner? Not looking for a fancy set price menu, but something more casual and a la carte.

Bingo! I've just found a comprehensive list of Christmas Eve events on the Salzburg website. I think we're set.
