Christmas Dinner in Venice...?

My wife and I will be in Venice on Christmas day and need some recommendations for a nice restaurant for Christmas Dinner. Thanks.

Let me make this suggestion - talk to the people at your hotel. You will need to make reservations ahead of time as some places will be closed and others will have a pre-fixe (one price, multi course) meal that day. If that's not what your wanting, let the people at the hotel know and they can help you with your options since they know first hand.

I had a great brunch at Florian's on Christmas day some years ago. It remains one of my favorite memories of Venezia.

Otherwise, things are shut up tight, not only on Christmas, but the following day, which is San Stefano's day and an important holiday in Venezia. I agree that you e-mail your hotel for their recommendations -- although bear in mind they are unlikely to recommend another hotel's restaurant. Hotel restaurants are open on Christmas (I ate a La Rivista in the Ca'Pisani) so you might see if you can track down reviews for good hotel restaurants in Venezia.

We ate a very pricey Christmas Eve meal at da Fiore. It was recommended by the hotel and they made reservations for us. Hotel restaurants are not all they'll recommend.

Thanks for the ideas. We are staying at the Londra Palace and could always eat in their restaurant Do Leoni, but would prefer to get out of the hotel and find a great restaurant somewhere off the beaten path.

again, since a lot pf places will be closed or booked ahead, it's not like a normal evening where you can just wander around and pop in any place.
