Message to Paul Diaz. How can you say that Bill Bixby has nothing to do with travel? His room mate was My Favorite Martian. Think of the frequent flyer miles he racked up!

D.B., that sketch was not about complaining, it was about arguing!

Isn't there one in which a man goes to the complaint department and the person staffing it starts complaining?
D.B. Jul 15th, 1999 12:06 PM

Aha! It was about arguing. And, when the other guy wouldn't argue anymore because his time was up, the guy went looking for someone to whom to complain. And upon opening a door, he gets: Complain! What's the use of complaining? I've only had these shoes for a week and already the heel's worn right through, etc., etc.

(something like that).

I notice there are people who like to create threads of complaint, and then chastise others for using them, or arguing.

But I am arguing with you, no you're not, yes I am, no you're not, yes I am..., no you are simply contradicting me.

But if I wish to argue with you then I must take up a contrary position.

Yes, but that isn't the automatic gain-saying of whatever the other person says.

Yes it is, no it's not, yes it is....
I've come here to argue!

Oh, this isn't arguing, this is "hitting on the head" lessons in here. Arguments are down the

Tony, Samuel Johnson a tedious old git???? What are you?

Tony Hughes Jul 15th, 1999 11:04 PM

Seamus ...Yes Johnson was an old git. He hated Scots and his 'tired of London' quote was as pompous as one could get.

Damn Englishman.

regards

Who's Christina? Richard, why so personal?
Richard Jul 16th, 1999 11:16 AM

Jay, Of all the impetuous postings I've made, this is the one I which I could take back. I was a novice on this forum and never meant it to be a "pile on" Christina thing, in retrospect an email would have served better. I don't think this public stage is the proper place for criticism, constructive or not.
