Christamas in Prague

I am thinking of going to Prague Christmas week. Does anyone now when most places are closed? Is it just Christmas day, or the 24th & 26th also?

Is winter a nice time for a first visit to Prague, or should it wait until hte spring?
I too will be in Prague for 8 nights this year. Xmas is a big in Prague and I don't know anywhere else I would rather be. I've already gone ahead and ordered tickets to the ballet & opera. Other night time entertainment is avaiable- including hockey). I've attached a relatd tour that is offered. It will give you a hint of the possibilites,(including 12/24-12/26).

http://smithsonianstudytours.org/sst...1803prague.asp

Christmas Day in the Czech Republic is on the 24th of December i.e. what most of us assume to be Christmas Eve. Expect almost everything to be closed on that day. The 25th and 26th are not recognised holidays here and many shops will open with reduced hours.

Jason (http://www.jasoncholt.com/prague/index.html)
