Choosing an apartment in Rome - Assistance Requested
My husband and I will be in Rome for 5 days and have narrowed our apartment choices down to these four. We have no problem walking and just wanted some input about the location and apartment in general.
Thank you. Boccaccio: http://www.sleepinitaly.com/en/show-...id_appartam=43 Crispi: http://www.sleepinitaly.com/en/show-...d_appartam=361 Falegnami: http://www.sleepinitaly.com/en/show-...id_appartam=31 Grotte: http://www.sleepinitaly.com/en/show-...id_appartam=49 |
I like the locations of the two near Campo dei Fiori. I'm not wild about the area near Piazza di Spagna. Trevi area may be a bit crazy with people.

I think they all look very nice. They are all well located in the city center. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Based solely on location, I agree with ellenem. The Trevi Fountain one isn't really that close to the fountain (definitely more than "a few steps"), and it's in the opposite direction from the center. The Piazza di Spagna one is right on the edge of the Borghese Gardens, a good distance from the center. Just on location, I would choose the last one, but I should point out that I like to be very close to the Piazza Navona.

Falegnami is an excellent location. Right near the transportation hub of Largo Argentina. It looks like it's actually closer to or even in the Jewish Ghetto area (than it is to Campo di Fiori). Numerous supermarkets, restaurants, banks, etc right in the area - very close.
Grotte red is closer to the Campo - also an excellent location. You would do well at either location. Falegnami looks a little nicer to me from the pix, but they are quite similar. There's also a difference in the beds. Felegnami says double bed, which I take it as the size of two twins, or ~= king. Grotte red says queen bed. If you have a preference keep that in mind. I like the Campo dei Fiori for browsing, but I've found that there's a 25-50% markup on many fruits there - you can find the exact same melons, apricots, etc right around the corner at the Despar market for less, if you are price sensitive. They won't be laid out as nicely, of course. I'm also not wild about Trevi or Pza di Spagna areas, but they are also fine and have their own appeal to many. |
Thanks guys for the input. We've been reading several forums and along with your input booked Grotte!
