choosing a rail pass

I swear that I once visited a site where you could put your proposed itinerary in and it told you the best rail pass to buy. Anybody know where it is? thx - D

Find out the cost of the pass and then the costs of not using the pass. many times the pass is not worth it.

Passes are good for a certain number of days. If you travel on more than those days, you still have to purchase a serperate ticket. If you travel on the EuroStar, there is usaually a additional fee ontop of the pass.

Good ol' Rick Steves has a good way of explaining passes and a good estimator of point-to-point fares as opposed to passes. Not scientific to the last penny, but handy. www.ricksteves.com
