Chisinau, Moldova. Is it worth it
Hello, I am plann a six week tour of eastern europe, beginning in Prague, then Budapest, Kiev, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and finally Tallinn. I was thinking of stopping over in Chisinau, Modolva for a day, but I do not know whether or not it is worth it, or how safe it is.

Although I've never been to Moldova,
I heard a lot of it, and it seems that
there is very little to see. So I wouldn't recommend it.

anyone who has never been to a place shouldn't bother recommending anything. i'm going to moldova in late january to spend some time before heading to russia where I have a teaching job. let me know if you have any questions, I've been to several of the places you've listed on your itinerary.

I'm from Moldova. It's been almost seven years now since I left the country. Chisinau, is a beautiful city. I think there are places to see. If you plan to go, or pass by...you might want to have a traveler's guide, so it can help you spend your time wiser. :)

Stop the nonsense! I live in Moldova. I absolutely love it. I came here 2 years ago on a 6 month contract to teach English. I'm still here - because it's lovely. Better hospitality than I've found anywhere in the world (and I've been around). The food is AMAZING, the wine is spectacular. The culture is rich. And so what, one woman was found selling human remains in the market nearly a couple winters ago. The police found her, took care of the situation - and all is well. It's no worse than what happens elsewhere. Violent crime is incredibly low, and non-violent crime is still lower than in most major cities. Moldova is a beautiful place, full of history, culture, and great wines. I highly recommend it to anyone. I've been here for almost 2 years and don't plan to leave any time soon.
