Thanks for the advice. I would stay at Cotswolds House if I felt it had that old vilage decor and feel. Noel Arms just semed to evoke that more (the website anyway). Of course, what do I know since I've never been to neither. Maybe I will wait for Brenda's trip report on the Noel Arms. Thanks Brenda. Have a great trip.

Len:<BR>We just returned from the UK week before last. We stayed in Chipping Campden at the Noel Arms for three nights and enjoyed it. We were pleased with the hotel. We had a large room and it was decorated very 'English'. Some of the walls in the room were actually stone so you really felt you were in an old building - which you are. About the only things I found wrong with the room was the towel warmer was not working and the bath tub was stained from minerals in the water but I wouldn't take a bath in most hotel rooms anyway... The Pub in the hotel is a nice English pub and there is a nice sitting area with a fireplace between the reception area and the pub (pub has a fireplace also). The Cotswold House was across the street from Noel Arms and the bar/restuarant are very modern - I know what you mean you just don't get the atmosphere. The building the Cotswold House is in is old - all of the buildings in most of the little villages are old, but I agree with you - I would not stay there. I think you will be happy with your choice of Chipping Campden as you are pretty central to the other small villages in the Cotswolds. Feel free to email me if I can answer any of your questions.
