The problem is that if you use Priceline again and bid for another room, you might get a different hotel this time. The odds are probably in your favor, though.

I'm surprised that they say the double rooms are 26m^2, which is 280 sq. ft. They didn't seem that large to me.

When a hotel gives you the size of the "room" they typically include the area of the bath, closet, little entry etc - the total area - not just the room itself.

The Westin Grand offered a second, connecting room for $184. When added to the $100 I spent on Priceline for room #1, that would make a pretty expensive overnight in Berlin.

I think I'll take my chances and fish for another Westin room on Priceline. I'd rather stay in separate hotels than spend close to $300/night...but then, I'm a cheapskate

For those who might be interested...The Westin offered me that second room for $184 (I had paid $100 for the first room on Priceline). I decided to take my chances on trying to land a second Westin Grand room on Priceline. I bid $66 and it was accepted. With tax, that's $84, so the total for both rooms is almost exactly what the Westin wanted to charge for one. I took a gamble and it paid off, although it's now obvious I overbid on the first room.

I'm glad it all worked out in the end.

When you're in your room, you may be able to see Priceline's cost on the television screen. This includes the room price plus tax. When I was there in July, I could see the price that Priceline paid was 55 Euros/night (room including tax).

And like I said, it's a great location for exploring Berlin.

Assuming the price hasn't changed since your visit, that's $74.25 or thereabouts. If you add their 5.95 fee, you're within about $4 of what I paid. I think I did fairly well the second time. I've been to Berlin many times and I can't think of a much better location that this.
