Chicago, Ohare to Rome

We are looking to visit Rome in July 2007. The flights right now show aroung $1300. I feel this is real high. Are we booking too soon or too late? Or is this about right cost wise?

Go to Kayak.com. I put in some dates for July and got a fare of $1095 Chicago to FCO on Iberia (via Madrid).

You might also look at taking JetBlue to JFK and search for transatlantic flights from there.

Hi

I hope that you find a good price. It can be tricky to find good prices if you travel in the main tourist season. Is this your first visit to Rome?

I agree that you might be able to do better by getting yourself to New York via ATA or JetBlue and then trying to get something from there. Watch kayak.com and the others daily.

We just booked a trip to Rome for April. The aifare is $942 RT (thru expedia). But the airfare was cheaper for the prior week so it may be that travelling during the high season is going to be be more expensive.

This is our first trip to Italy. I checked the prices today, YIKES! They jumped to $1500 nonstop!

Kayak.com was awesome, so I'll keep an eye on that. Thanks everyone!
