Chianti wine tasting

Hello - I’m looking for suggestions for 1 or 2 stops between Siena and Florence. We will be a party of 5 next spring and I would like a stop for wine tasting and a stop for lunch on our route from Siena to Florence. Somewhere special? Hopefully with great views?
thanks for the help.

So, one in your party will forego the wine tasting and be your designated driver? Or will they sip and spit...? Italian DUI laws are very strict with serious penalties ranging from fines to incarceration.

Some will argue that the "better" wine and prettier views are south of Siena, not north. Hopefully, you're planning to drive scenic SR222, the Via Chiantigiana, through the heart of Chianti.

Not all wineries offer tours/tasting on weekends. Most require reservations. Not all are free. Some have a restaurant.

Castellare di Castellina is in a scenic part of Chianti and just a couple of miles from Castellina in Chianti which is probably my favorite Chianti town. If Radda was on your list to visit, there are at least a dozen wineries very close by, including Badia a Coltibuono within a monastery, and Castello di Ama.

1 - we will have a driver.
2- we plan to visit several areas in our 2 weeks.
3 - thank you for the recommendation.

Your driver would likely know about some nice wineries with views and should be able to make reservations for you.

Instead of going to wineries you could also consider a small tasting room in just about any town. A few years ago we stayed in one such small Tuscan town, Colle, and the tasting/pairing 5 course dinneer menu at a tiny place in town was one of the best memories of our trip.... and only steps away from our VRBO...
