Chianti - lunch with a view??

Hi, I have been on a quest trying to find a perfect place for a long, lazy lunch with an incredible view while touring the Chianti. I have searched websites high and low and cannot find that perfect place. Does anybody know of such a restaurant, I am thinking open terrace - overlooking miles of rolling hills and vinyards, the hazy tuscan light, all that stuff. Please help me find my perfect imagined dream!

We just had dinner last week at Boccon di Vino in Montalcino which has the most wonderful view which stretches for miles. We were absolutely mesmerized by the view and the food and service were excellent.

There is outside seating, and from what I hear, if you are going during busy season, call ahead and make a reservation (Phone: 0577-848233)

Maybe consider Villa Scacciapensieri?

Best wishes,

YES, Yes, Yes, and yes again. The restaurant you want is Il Poggio. It's a beautiful drive into the middle of nowhere near the town of Lecchi.
From Lecchi, follow the signs to Poggio San Polo. The restaurant has signs.

We had a wonderful terrace lunch with sweeping views at Badia Coltibuono. It was very lovely and the food was excellent. We were staying in Radda at the time and it was a scenic drive to get there. There is an old monastery on site and they have a small tasting shop. I am sure they take reservations, but we got in for lunch without one after a short wait. http://www.coltibuono.com/

The chianti region is wonderful. We can't wait to go back. However, we are heading to Provence this summer. Let me know what you think.
