Chesme Church visit in St. Petersburg, Russia

My dad and i are going on a scandianivan cuirse this summer and will have 2 days in St. Petersburg Russia. I was to visit Chesme church. Does anyone know if it is far from the city center? There seems to be a main street, Moskovsky Prospekt, that runs south from the city center and the Church is a little ways south on the street.

It's several stops on the metro from the city center. You take the Metro (M2 blue line) and get off at the Moskovskaya stop. When you get out of the metro station, start your journey from the huge statue of Lenin that's in front of the House of Soviets. Chesme is about a 15 minute walk from there. The neighborhood will be very plain (but safe) and Chesme Church will stand out like a beacon.

Across the street from the church is Chesme Palace, which is not impressive.

Moskovsky Prospect around the Moskovskaya stop is very busy and there are lots of restaurants and stores here. This metro stop is also where you can catch the airport bus, so you'll see tons of signs inside the metro directing you to the bus stop. Probably best to follow these signs so that you get out near the House of Soviets. You can't miss the statue of Lenin nearby.

Chesme is well worth a visit.

Is it possible for you to arrange with one of the excursion tours to visit the church? It would be a very short visit. To be honest, the outside is much more spectacular than the inside.

It makes sense to take a look at Chesme Church on the way back from the tour of Catherine's palace, it's practically in the way - just a couple of minutes detour.
