Bilboburgler, that is a great website. Thank you. Soo many pubs, so little time.

We stayed in a small cottage off Sheep St. Favorite streets to walk include Sheep Street and Church Street. You MUST walk to the end of Sheep Street, perhaps 1/4 mile - you will see several houses with the most amazing, creative thatched roofs. Church St has the Court Barn Museum, St James Church and cemetery.

We enjoyed lunch and dinner at the 8 Bells on the same day as we tried to book Chef's Dozen but were too late. We did not care for our dinner at the dining room at the Cotwold's Grill, in the center of town. Guild of Handicrafts, on Sheep Street had a variety of interesting shops as did a majority of the shopping along the main street. All the shop keepers were so friendly and we hesitated to leave. Check to see if there is a walking tour of the village - this would be the town to enjoy hearing the history.

Thank you gailscout, for the tips. Reading the posts and blogs of ChgoGal's previous Cotswold experiences are very inspiring. And the advice from MmePerdu, flanneruk and others will be invaluable. Over the years, I have relied on Fodor's forums for many trips and this little trip will be no exception. Thanks again for your generosity!

Thank you for the help you provided in advance of our holiday in the Cotswolds. We spent half the time in Tetbury and half the time in Chipping Campden. The whole trip was delightful. We had glorious weather and enjoyed many country walks and terrific meals. We did not have a car but managed very well with taxis, trains and buses. This is indeed a very beautiful part of England.
