Chelsea Area
 

Is anyone familiar with the area around the Copthorne & Millenium hotel in Chelsea? How close is the tube? I can't determine from the maps I have, and was wondering how safe it would be to walk between the hotel and the tube at night. This isn't my preference as far as hotels go, but it's where our tour begins. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I'm worried the hotel seems far away from the sites.

Very dangerous area - full of dwarves in "Chelsea Tractors" hunting for a parking place and if they see one NOTHING gets in their way.

Also given that the hotel is at Chelsea FC watch out for Headhunters on match days. (Hint - given that Chelsea is the top football club in England match days are extremely crowded & extremely noisy)

As to your question, most of Chelsea is a long way from Tube stations - 15 minutes to Fulham Broadway for example - and so buses would be a better choice

Wouldn't be my choice either. But it is only about 1/4 miles from Fulham Broadway tube station - so not a long walk at all.

Typo - I meant 10 minutes, but I'd have thought it was more than 1/4 mile - more like half a mile

Sounds like an interesting place! My main concern is being able to come and go easily- and cheaply- won't be there but to sleep anyway. Thanks for the input!
