cheese and chocolate factory
As I am visiting switzerland on 16th july I was very much interested in seeing chocolate and cheese factory.
Do I need to have any prior permission for that. We will be staying around Haute nendez. We are interested in visiting on either 17th or 18th.
Can we see both on the same day?
We are a groupe of 3 people.
Thanking you

Hi Dipika_Bhatt,
You can do this two ways.
One way is to travel to Montreux and then take the Chocolate Train, which covers both cheese and chocolate factories. I believe the train departs Montreux at 09.00, so you'd have to get there before that.
The other way is to go on your own. You can get the exact schedules at the Swiss rail site at
www.rail.ch
and you would enter:
From Haute Nendez
To Gruyeres
and then
From Gruyeres
To Broc Fabrique
and then
From Broc Fabrique
To Haute Nandez
More information at:
www.lamaisondugruyere.ch
www.cailler.ch
Have fun!

Hi again,
The website at Cailler doesn't say that one must make reservations to visit. It only says:
Groups (from 10 people on) are kindly asked to announce visit prior to arrival
and here is more information from their site:
Opening hours
7 days a week (except Dec 25th and Jan 1st )
From Apr 1st to Oct 31st, nonstop from 10am to 6pm
From Nov 1st to Mar 31st, nonstop from 10am to 5 pm
Last show: starts 45 minutes before the closing
A visit takes about 1h15 to 1h30

My father and sister recently did the Callier tour and didn't require a reservation. They also visited the cheese making in Gruyere.
He did say you have to do the cheese in the morning though because that is when it is made so see cheese making first then travel to the chocolate factory.
