Checking luggage at Paddington's Heathrow Express?
I believe that I read somewhere that certain airlines had check in counters at Paddington Station when using the Heathrow Express? Is this correct? Anyone know if American Airlines has a check in there? Sure sounds convenient!
|
It's true. BA at least. I'll see if I can find out who else.
|
Air Canada, Austrian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, bmi, Varig Brasil, LOT, Lufthansa, Thai Airways, SAS and, of course, BA all have check in desks at Paddington
|
Sheila, BA discontinued that service (see their website.) Not sure, but I think AA did too.
|
Darn...Just my luck! Thanks so much.
|
Oops, sorry.
I think the desk must still be there; I have a clear memory of seeing it last month. It never worked for em because I was always on the "red eye" where ever I was going, and it didn't open early enough for me to check in there. |
AA is one (possibly the only) member of the Star Alliance that doesn't have checkin at Paddington.
And there is no longer a BA desk there either |
The flanneruk brain is still reeling from the shock of England not only demolishing hereditary enemy no 1, but going into the final of a major world sports event the favourites to do the same to hereditary enemy no 2. If only the Germans played rugby, so we could hammer all 3...
What I meant to say above of course was: - BA don't have a counter at Paddington at all any more. Nor do any of the One World gang, so you can't check in for AA. - And, sadly, the major Star airline not represented at Paddington is United. So it looks impossible to check in there for the States at all. |
