Checking email
A friend who just returned from trip sais they had trouble checking a Gmail account while traveling in Europe. Anyone had that experience? We leave one three 3 weeks and would like to stay connected.

As long as you have WiFi, you should be good to go. Make sure the Gmail web client works before you leave, and it should be fine when you get there.
If the difficulty was with an iPhone, make sure your settings are correct. Call AppleCare for help. |
There are MANY reasons why there had trouble checking a gmail. Your friend either gave you no usable info or it was not included in this posting to provide recommendation of "that experience" whatever it is.
Here is just one issue: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...al-travels.cfm |

I think there's a charge for that unless you pay for ongoing support, no? In any event, I agree that the friend with the Gmail problem needs to explain the nature of the problem, because it could be so many things. |
there is absolutely no reason why gmail should have any problems in Europe.
Obviously if you lack wifi access or phone access you will have a problem. What you will find is that gmail recognise if you are using a new computer to access the account and, if your security is set up correctly, will ask for a txt/email confirmation that access is ok. If you have any of this set up incorrectly then you will have a problem. I suggest just access it from somewhere new at home and follow the links. |
