Check this out......

Please read my saga that's posted under "What do you do in this situation? before reading this. It's unbelievable what we've had to go through. But it's 100 percent true.

Check this out--

We were told on July 3 that the tickets would be FedEx(ed) to us on July 5 because July 4 was a holiday. We made arrangements so that somebody would be home all day July 6 and July 7. No tickets.

We waited all day July 8, still no tickets. Remember, our plane leaves on July 14.

Since we've lost all hope because of the lying by this travel agent, and I think we have enough evidence to back up that assumption, we did go out and purchase other tickets from our local travel agent late that afternoon.

Sure enough, the travel agent from the first company called our house on July 10 and left a message with our daughter (who is a minor) that the tickets would be in our hands July 12. Since we bought new tickets, we no longer needed those.

When my wife called the diorect line to the travel agent, somebody (miraculously) answered after the second ring. My wife said "Is this (The name of the travel agency)?" The person on the other end said "NO!!!!" and hung up.

My wife called back on the 800 line and there was no answer. When the answering machine kicked on, she let the agency have it with both barrels. Which, I feel, was justified.

It's July 12 and we still have no tickets from that travel agent, by the way. But with the new tickets, we fly out to Charlotte tomorrow and then to Frankfurt. We will get our vacation.

The bad thing is, there is an ugly cloud hanging over the trip. I was told by an investigator in our state's attorney gerneral office that we probably would be responsible for the first set of tickets, provided they arrive before we are to depart.

How can this be? We still had reservations to make-- motel rooms, etc. This cannot be fair. I can't see it being fair at all.

What should I do? I've already filed a report with the BBB and disputed the credit-card charge (which we won't know for 90 days). What else can I do?

What's sad is, we were the victims in all of this and now we have to jump through hoops to try to get the charges dropped from the credit card. We still don't have the tickets, but we may still have to pay. We have to depend on people to whom this has never happened before to make a decision in our favor.
Please help. I'll read the replies when we return.
Maybe I am unclear because Ididn't read What would you do in this situation.. or maybe I did but I've forgotten,,, did you book all your initial tickets through an agent.
Did you try calling the airline that was supposed to be carrying you... they should have had some sort of record if you were going to be on their plane...
1. Call a lawyer Ask his advice
2. Did you sign anything or give a deposit or in any way show your intent to book through this agency? If so, I fear they might charge you something.
3. You will be able to explain your story, so don't give up all hope
4. Go on your vacation and don't give this a second though...just try and have a good time.
5. When you get back you can 'face the music".
6. Do you have any phone messages the travel agent left? If so, keep them handy. It might be useful.

Joe, have a wonderful vacation! I read your other post and am sorry that you had such ordeals when you didn't do anything wrong from your end. Before you leave, try to recall and record all of your conversations with the "agency" and the dates that they occured. The more information you have, the better. But, don't let anything detract from enjoying yourself ... hopefully, it will be twice as good to make up for the trauma!

I had the same problem with TISS (now flights.com) and their agency USA International Travel - ticketing delays, lots of misinformation (or lies), unanswered e-mails, and absolutely no way to talk to a human being on the other end of a phone line. Ordered two months in advance, my tickets finally arrived a few days before leaving. But they also decided it would be fun to overcharge me, so I had to file a complaint with Visa. Eventually, after a ridiculous amount of hassle, the agency sent me a check for the overcharge. I think they're just completely incompetent rather than devious, but I'll never use them again.

Was your misfortune with this same company?
