Cheaptickets.com ain't
I recently booked a flight to the east coast to attend my niece's wedding. First I received two tickets two days apart, both with the wrong return date on them. cheaptickets is charging me $150.00 to correct their mistake. Don't think that I'll use them again.
This is why I use a travel agent.

This is why I don't use Cheaptickets. I don't know how it works but when I buy tickets online (I've bought from Travelocity, Air France and America West web sites), I get a confirmation two ways -- first, the page with the information as to what I reserved (I print this out) which is followed up with an email from the site very shortly, more documentation. If you have printed documentation, I don't see how they can charge you for correcting the tickets; personally, I would not allow that and would not pay it. If you have no written documentation as to what you ordered and paid for, I'm sorry, you never should deal with such a firm.

Thanks Cristina, I never will deal with them again and I'm writting a letter to their headquarters. I made a amature mistake trying to get the cheapest tickets to go to my niece's wedding and now I just cou'd have gotten them almost anywhere for what I'm paying. Oh well, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
Regards
Art
Art:

Thanks for the heads up. I've heard about these problems with price line etc. We booked our airline tickets through Expedia. It couldn't have gone more smoothly. And I got the lowest price I could find anywhere. They even have an update service, where they e-mail you if there is any change to your flight etc. I guess "cheapest" isn't always the best or even the cheapest. Didn't they give you any documentation like Christina described? You could always contest the "correction" charge with your credit card company if you charged it.

Art-- you might remembered the trip to Rome I planned for last February and cancelled due to my father's sudden death. I bought the tickets thru cheaptickets.com. I made the reservations over the internet, but called them to complete the transaction. The man over the phone mentioned to me repeteadly again and again to please review my tickets inmediately upon receipt, because I only had 24-hour window to make any corrections free of charge. Luckily, the tickets were fine, but now his insistence makes a little more sense to me.

I also have to say that I was reimbursed every penny within 10 days from when I mailed to them a copy of the death certificate. I sincerely feel very bad for your experience, but they came through for me at a very difficult time, and I feel it's only fair to share mine.

Best of luck.

Yes, I & friends have only had good experiences with cheaptickets. Nothing is perfect & they have been around for quite awhile which is a positive indication. Perhaps Art screwed up his order--it happens.

Had a good experience last fall on trip to London with Cheaptickets. We did examine the tickets carefully when we got them, though.

Hi all, Maira, I'm glad that it worked out for you. Yes they did go over the itenary with me, but I know that I said SUNDAY,the nth of XXX, what I got was 9 days later on a Tuesday.
