Cheaptickets & FF Miles-Any Opinions??
 

I know, I know, this is not really a Europe question, but I value the comments/feedback from the European gang, so please bear with me.

Does anyone have any experience with using cheaptickets.com to book flights AND getting the FF for those flights?

I had just assumed that using cheaptickets would mean that we would not be getting credit for the flights, but when I look further at the site, it does ask for your FF number.

The flight we are looking at are about $2900 total for 5 on cheaptickets and for the exact same flights on USAir, they are about $4500.

The reason we were wanting to use USAir to book direct was in the hopes that they will still be around in Nov so that we can go away for our anniversary using our miles.

What this rambling boils down to is......should I be concerned about not getting credit for USAir flights booked through cheaptickets????

Depends on the fare class of the ticket and USAir's policy. In general, UA and US are pretty generous - I have gotten full UA miles on a super-cheap ticket on Travelocity on Air Canada.

Cheaptickets is just like another internet booking sites, and most of the time, their prices are the same as Expedia, Travelocity, etc...

But see if you find out what fare class the ticket will be issued in, and then ask Dividend Miles whether it's a valid fare for FF.

If you are flying on USAirways (you bought the tickets and have confirmed reservations) then call them, tell them your FF acct number and have them read it into the record. The amount you paid is irrelevant..why? Because you can book tickets directly on USAirways and pay differing amounts there, as well. They are the ones who are allowing discounters such as "Cheaptickets" to move their seats..shouldn't be any problem at all.

We use cheap tickets a lot and have never had a problem with the fare class -- we've always gotten our frequent flyer miles.
