Cheapest way to get from Paris to Rome?
Does anyone have any tips on the cheapest way to get from Paris to Rome?
|
I flew Air France in March for $138 round trip.
|
A cheap fare (not as low sa $138, though) was recently mentioned from www.travelocity.com flying on Corsair.

If that isn't available, look into flying via London - - www.ryanair.com begins STN-Ciampino this summer - - www.easyjet.com flies Paris-London - - or via Brussels - - train there, then www.virgin-express.com to Rome.

Best wishes,

Rex
to the top
A couchette on the overnight train is about 111 Euros. www.sncf.com

Try going to anyway.com. Its a French site but easy enough to figure out even if you don't speak french. Unbelievable deals!
|
Saw a thread about a new cheap intra-France airline. Is this it? Don't read any French.
|
does anybody know this?
|
Nope, anyway is a travel agency. Don't know of any new airline.
|
The new airline is Air Liberte Express--only flying within France currently.

Wondering, consider Ryanair from Charleroi to Rome. Train up to Belgium could be well worth the savings. Also consider Virgin Express from Brussels to Rome.
|
Ryanair is 28.42 EUR one-way with all taxes and fees included. This is their current mid-week fare for July.
|
Don,

Do you have a website address for Air Liberte Express? I suppose I could look it up.
|
http://www.airlibexpress.com/Airlib_front/processus/index.html

I'm only aware of it because someone posted here on the forum about a week ago (wish I could recall who?).

I once had an artist friend whose business card said something like "good - cheap - fast. Select two of the above."
Since you only want one of the above for your travels, you have all the time in the world and can manage in any circumstance. So go for it -- the best choice is thumb it.

I have hung out my thumb and have picked up hitch hikers around Europe. It is an interesting and cheap way to travel.
