Cheaper flights on certain days?
I seem to recall that air tickets to Europe are cheaper on certain week days. Can you confirm this? Or is it my imagination?
|
Mid-week travel is usually cheaper (Tue, Wed, and perhaps Thu too).

Hi USNR,
IME, Fri and Sat flights are usually about $35 higher than T, W & Th. Mondays are sometimes higher. ((I)) |
How can this be "your imagination"? You either cnfirm it from the quotes or you don't. You have access to the same websites as everybody else - use them and you'll have empirical evidence - beats guessing and imagining every time.

I have just found Fri & Sat airtickets almost given away for flights between Manchester & Dublin.

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one. Imagine cheaper air fares What's oil going for today? Wider seats and more leg room And lobster on your tray. Lyrics: John Lennon |
This is easy to check with getting quotes on websites. Air France has a very nice calendar for a whole month showing you the exact fares each day so you can figure it out. Often, the days that are cheaper are about $30, as I recall. It really varies depending on a lot of factors, including holidays, time of year, etc. But I think Friday and Saturday are usually the most expensive. Not that I think it varies day by day, but I've seen lower fares on all days between Sun and Thursday at various times, but I don't think ever on F or Sat.
