Cheap transport from London across UK
 

Hi, having read in many recent posts about the poor exchange rate of the dollar to the pound, I thought folk may be interested in a new UK comapany based in London called mega bus www.megabus.com

They are offering bus trips from £1 each way, plus a small booking fee. I found a return ticket for this price from London to Bristol. I am not sure of all the destinations, but with prices that cheap it may be worth a look.

I think you were right the first time. Since megabus offers services to Cardiff, Swansea, Glasgow, Perth, Dundee, etc, the UK is the right geography. What they do not offer, apparently, is a service from London to Scotland, but they certainly offer service in Scotland.

The even better news is that Megabus have now provoked a competitive response.

Megabus, BTW, isn't a new company. It's the no-frills division of Stagecoach, which is one of the major bus and train companies here (they operate Virgin Trains, for example, though reports seem so far to be that Megabus is a lot more reliable than Virgin. But then so were the pre-Mussolini trains in Italy.)

bbib why is it that I come up with your postings under all the countries of Europe, when you ar only looking for information for London? I look under Albania - I see your post for London, I look under Ukraine, I see it again. You are making searches virtually a was of time and space. Please be more carefull when you select country for your post.

flanneruk - how long has megabus been operating for? I read an article recently saying it was new - I must have got that wrong too... back to my hole.
