Cheap Tickets on Olympic for April 1-June 30 NOW!
#5
brotherleelove2004 Thanks; I saw that sale this morning and I'm just waiting for my daughter to get home from school. About a $60-$70 dollar PP reduction. She can get the sale price for six, but not eight on Olympics site. I will have her do six first and then the next two and see if the price stays the same. We will do ours once she has her eight tickets. Hope this price holds until later this afternoon. Richard

Richard, I have found sometimes you have to try for sale tickets one by one! If you ask for 2 tickets, and they only have one left at the sale price, they will give you two at the regular price. Then the person who comes after you -- if he asks for just ONE ticket -- gets the sale ticket.
When your daughter starts to book online, have her start with 6... if she can get them fine. If not, go down to 5. If she can get the 6, then order 1. If she can get that, then order 1 again. That way, 7 out of 8 would get the sale-price t ckets. or, if the 6 didn't work, then 5 out of 8. Get it?

Thanks travelerjan; She is on the way home now and it seems like she can do six tickets at $178 US as I just checked. Then go back in for the other two. I went in and requested eight and the price went up about $40 dollars.

I am sorry if this is a silly question, but does Olympic fly out of the same airport as the International flights come in? I would love to book these tickets, but I don't have enough time to travel to a different airports if Olympic does fly from the main one.
Thanks

Well,I think I got the last one for June 27th. I am actually really bummed because I really needed four tickets. I'm going to keep trying to get the €9 tickets but if I can't I hope the other prices drop some.
Any advice for me on getting the other three?
Thanks!

Have you watched the news lately namaka? Most of the Libya oil goes to Europe. You can always "hope" but I'll be willing to bet a dinner that you won't see further price drops for the same day. Advice? How? When the sale-price tickets are gone, they are gone.

travelerjan, yes I have watched the news and understand that I most likely won't see any further price drops but I am not giving up yet! If I have to fly separately from the rest of the family so be it. However, if I can manage to get some more sale price tickets (whether it is on Olympic or Aegean), I am definitely gonna try.
What would have been nice on the Olympic site was if they had something that tells you how many sale price seats are left; like on Aegean. If they had, I would have known (for sure) that I was getting the last one.

In 2009 my husband and I planned a trip for 7 people, 5 of whom were new to independent travel. I could only book 6 tickets at a time from Santorini to Athens. As I recall this was on Aegean airlines. Not wanting to leave one person stranded alone, I booked 5 at the sale price, returned to reserve 2 more and the sale price was not available. I spent a restless night wondering what I would find on the next day, Lo and behold, there were sale seats available on the same flight. It is worth a day, to see if more seats are made available, but I suggest you do not wait too long.

thanks gogogreece. I have returned to the site and have tried a couple of times to see if more should magically appear. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case. Guess it's back to watching for some more sales even if it means that my husband and kids will have to go another way.
Thanks for the tip!

Thanks cwra, I gave up on the Olympic tickets but found some great rates on Aegean. I just ended up buying four on Aegean and will just eat the cost of the Olympic flight (unless I can get some kind of refund).
On another note, I made another big mistake. As I was reviewing all of my notes and reservations, I noticed that I mistakenly purchased ferry tickets from Mykonos to Piraeus for July 6 instead of July 5th. We leave for the US on the 7th. What are everyone's thoughts on attempting to keep the tickets for the 6th? Too much of a chance of the ferry getting cancelled?
I have really got to pay more attention; I've made some silly mistakes in some of my bookings this time around. : (

Ferries are rarely cancelled. It happens most often in July but the chances of it are slim. If you've booked a large car ferry it's even less-likely that it will be cancelled since it's alot more stable than the smaller highspeed ferries.
