Cheap tickets-last minute

Good morning,
I KNOW I saw a post within the last few days with Web sites for cheap air tickets, but it's been dropped so far I can't find it AND the search engine isn't working. I have a chance to go to Paris around May 17 IF I can get cheap, last minute tickets. I've checked a few sites I usually use but I'm not finding much. Any suggestions or sites?
THANKS!!

Hi Mel! For a list of concolidators, check out this frommers link:
http://www.frommers.com/deals/airfares/airdealse.html
For a website that scans web-only specials and last-minute deals, check out http://www.smarterliving.com

Good luck!

Try www.qixo.com. Good luck; cheap last-minute tickets may be an oxymoron!

Can't thank you all enough! I'm heading out to search the Web based on your recommendations! Wish me luck! (I'll keep checking back if anyone wishes to add to the list).

Actually, Delta and some of the other airlines are having a huge fare sale right now & there are some pretty amazing deals. Delta in particular is offering up to 50% off plus an additional 10% off if you purchase online before May 11. Most of the sale fares require at least a 7 day advance purchase and are good for travel through mid-June. E.g. Delta has New York JFK to Zurich for $256 roundtrip plus tax, and Washington Dulles to Paris for $323 roundtrip plus tax. For other sample fares, check out
http://www.delta.com/travel/sp_offer...ndex.jsp#world
-- although that list is not comprehensive, and you should also check other airlines because some others are matching.

I just got some cheap tickets at cheaptickets.com for going from Los Angeles to Boston for my nieces wedding. The only problem I have is that they told me that I have to be strapped to the wing.
Hi, Mel
May I inquire as to what your departure city is? That may help us find you the best deal.
Here is the Luthansa website with the auctions listed. It is truly last minute but offers great buys. I have been watching it for several weeks.
http://www.lufthansa-usa.com/index_auction.html
Best of luck! Let us know how you do.
Gloria

You guys are great!
Art: I don't see your problem being strapped to the wing. It's May so the weather's lovely and you get fresh vs. stale cabin air. Okay, so the Canadian Geese can be a problem, but... for a great price we must be ready to make sacrifices!
Gloria: I'll fly out of Chicago.
Keep your fingers crossed, folks--I REALLY need to get away soon..... AND, it's all your fault anyway. I've become an addict to Fodors myself lately and now I've got to get a fix!
Great fares on short-notice are also available from many of the airlines via their 'e-saver' programs. You can access these fares directly at the airlines websites. I think there fares often don't show up on sites like hotwire, qixo, etc. Pretty much all the airlines seem to be having substantial sales on international tickets right now.

Qixo.com, flights.com, cheaptickets.com are tops. Bestfares.com is the biggest rip-off, worst travel site on the web.
