CHEAP RT AIR TO EUROPE
Hi,
I want to go to Europe for a week in Feb. I really don't care where (other than not Paris), and probably would prefer destinations in Switzerland or more Eastern places...I don't care. I just know I want to go.
We're leaving from Ohio...where can we fly to the cheapest? Any ideas?

Just enter your city & different possible destinations on a site like kayak.com & see what you can come up with.
What's the dominant airline where you are? Or closest major airports? You can sign up with the airline to have emails sent when they run deals to different destinations.

Sometimes there are special sales (often due to routes being promoted, etc.), but in general, London is the cheapest place to fly to from the US because it is closest. Dublin is pretty cheap, also, usually. Paris and Brussels and Amsterdam are probably next, and sometimes Madrid.
Switzerland is never the cheapest, nor more Eastern places, that is the opposite of what is cheapest as they are farther away, and not as big flight hubs (eg, Prague, Budapest, etc.). You wouldn't want to go there in Feb anyway much, would you?

Christina - It depends on the US gateway. I often find flights from my area (the OP said OH and I use CVG often) to Zurich to be cheaper than other areas because of the airlines that serve my US gateway. In fact, London is usually quite a bit more and then you would still have to pay for onward flights not to mention the loss of vacation time. I also can usually find FF tickets into Zurich when they aren't available for Rome/Milan.

farecompare.com has a map feature. P;u in your departure city and they select the Europe map. You can change the month and date to reflect when you want to go. Prices aren't always exact or truly available, but it is a good starting point to find something.
In February I'd aim for a place with a more southerly locale.
