cheap Paris hotel advice (5th & 6th)
Does anybody know anything about Hotel des Arenas or Hotel de France Quartier Latin? I'm looking for bargains in the Latin Quarter or St. Germain, since we'll be paying for 2 rooms. I'm looking at Minerve and Familia too, but the first two are going to be cheaper. I like cheap but won't settle for noise or no showers. Thanks to everyone who has helped me in past replies. I'm slowly narrowing this search.

My favorite place to stay is Hotel California.

check out the libertel quartier latin. it's in the latin quarter, great design, tres chic. and they have big discounts on their website (you can get a double for about 139 euro and it's considered a high three star to four star). See the website for pics and rates:
http://www.mercure.com/mercure/fiche...he_hotel.shtml Other than that, there's the Hotel de Fleurie which is right near St. Germain de Pres. I believe you can get a room for under 150 Euro/night, and it gets good reviews on fodors and frommers. http://www.hotel-de-fleurie.tm.fr/ Other well-priced options i know of in the area are two best westerns around St. Germain (Aramis and Manoir something-or-other). Haven't been to either but have seen both and they look comfortable and clean enough. |
I haven't stayed at Hotel des Arenes, but it is around the corner from St Christophe (where I did stay) and Residence Monge, where bunches of recs. are given here...
Do a search on St Christophe and on Hotel Monge - at least you can get an idea about the area, if not the specific hotel. (I think the area will meet your needs). Also, did you try a search on Hotel des Arenes, b/c I think it's been mentioned in the past. |
We stayed at Hotel Residence Monge in August and were very happy there. Room was spotlessly clean and staff very friendly. Metro just a few yards away.

Here's another vote for Hotel Residence Monge. We stayed there in July and will be returning on our next trip thru Paris.
