cheap lastminute concert tickets in Vienna
I am going to Vienna mid April and I'd like to attend classical concerts (Mozart for sure and maybe others...). I 've seen that tickets are rather expensive, but I've also heard that at the specific day of any event, anyone can buy at low prices the remaining tickets outside the concert's place. Is that true and so simple, or what? Can I book through internet cheap tickets? Can you recommend anything else?
Thanks in advance... |
Topping--as I'm interested in the answer also!

I was in Vienna in December and there were plenty of concerts nightly. There are always people on the street with flyers announcing concerts(this was the Christmas season, so there may not be as many going on in April). Most of them took place in churches. If you want to book a more formal event, you should try to book before you go. You can also try going to expedia.com and look under activities. Put in your dates and they may have what you are looking for.

Hello vayio:
We spent Christmas week in Vienna. Here are a couple of websites you might try. I agree that tickets for cultural/special events in Vienna are "rather expensive" and don't know how to deal with that except possibly to show up at the box office before the performance. http://www.classicworld.at/ viennaconcerts.com Good luck. All I want to know is if truly you can find cheap lastminute tickets at the event's day, at box office. (maybe the last half hour before the performance?)

Anyone knows? Maybe?
