Cheap hotels in Venice?
 

Hi, I'm going to be in Venice the beginning of October and have booked a room at Albergo Doni but just saw some newer reviews online that weren't as flattering. Any recommendations? Anyone stay there recently? Thanks!

www.eurocheapo.com might be an alternative resource for the info you are seeking. I don't know anything about Albergo Doni in particular.

Try the hotel galleria. Great location, very reasonable rates.

We stayed at the Hotel Lux last month. We were a little nervous before we arrived because the price seemed too good to be true, but it turned out great and you couldn't choose a more convenient location.

Try using http://www.alberghi-venezia.it/
Its a live connection of hotel rooms available and is run by hotel managers. The best bit is they hold the reseveration on a credit card and you get a discount for cash payment on arrival.
Used them many times with excellent results.
