cheap hotel room in central and SAFE area in Paris???
 

im going to paris in january, and as far as I ve searched the hotel room rentals are quite expensive... the thing is i m looking for a room around 60-70 p.night in a good and SAFE area. any suggestion or special offer you could give me??

p.s. i dont like to use very muck the subway, the more central the best.

I don't think there's anywhere in central Paris that could be described as "unsafe", though there are some seedy areas (e.g. around Pigalle and Les Halles) which might make you feel a bit uncomfortable walking around at night. I assume you mean €60-70 per room per night? That's definitely the budget end of the market, but there are plenty of 2-star hotels for this rate in January. Try the usual booking sites like hotels.com, booking.com etc.

1. All parts of Paris are safe. Some are prettier than others.
2. You price range is more easily found in the higher numbered arrondissements.
3. Besides the metro, there is also a bus network.

How long are you in Paris? If more than 4-5 days, look into an apt.. Cheaper then a hotel and you can save money by cooking some of your own meals and reheating leftovers. Email me if you would like info. on a studio wife and I have used for the past 3 years.

Hi, we stayed in hotel de mines in the latin quarters, very safe as i was travelling alone - paid around 100 euros in april last year, but maybe will cost much less when you go this january..it was in a main street and very well-lighted with cafes and the metro nearby.

Have you tried Priceline? You can probably get a good 3* hotel for under $100 in January.

It's in Republique area, near Gare de l'Est, a few minutes by metro from Bastille district!

I stay at the heart of the Marais district in the 3rd arrondissement and it was a perfect location. My apt was on rue de Brague, near rue du Temple and the rue des Archives, parallel between the rue Rambuteau and the rue des Haudriettes. The apt I rented was more than your budget so i won't mention. That neighborhood has all the cool shops and great restaurants and eateries all within walking distance and it was very pleasant indeed.

Come to think about it, the Marais district could be expensive. I stayed at a budget hotel some 18 years ago. It's hotel du Dragon on Rue de Dragon. Couldn't fault it for that price range.

We stayed in Hotel Tourisme, 10 minutes walk from Eiffel Tower.
We liked the hotel and their rates too. Shall recommend.

Hotel Marignan, 13, rue du Sommerard. A very basic one star, but a very good price and a great location (a block from the Cluny) – ten minutes to Place St Mich, Notre Dame, Ile St Louis. Six floors and no lift but if you ask when making the reservation they will guarantee you a lower floor which they will honor, even if it means giving you a better room. I reserved and paid for a single with shower and toilet shared (sink in the room) but when they tried to put me on the sixth floor and I said no they changed me to a quad on the second floor with shower and sink (WC across the hall). I did have the email that stated third floor max. Basic but clean furnishings, no TV. Breakfast (bread, spreads, coffee, oj) included in the price. Plus they have a kitchen you can use and even a washer/dryer. I repeat – it’s a basic one star but it’s clean and the value and location make up for it. I paid 47€ night Novembe 2009. I feel pretty good about this hotel but admit I might feel differently if they had not been able to give me another room on a lower floor. Or even if I had a tiny single on the lower floor (I did not see a single). I did see some other guests apparently having a problem with not getting what they had reserved so it’s possible they make this kind of mistake frequently. On the other hand, I met a woman who has stayed there several times over a number of years and loves it and chooses to stay there even though she can afford something better so she can “spend her money on other things”.http://[email protected]

Hi ! I don't think there are lots of central hotels where you can book a room from 60Euros (but, right, I don't know every Paris hotels ^^). Personnally, I enjoy the hotel de la Porte Doree, which is in the 12th. It's not in the center but the prices are really affordable for your budget (from 50Euros). This is a nice and cosy hotel, with a great service. http://www.paris-hotels-paris.com/ . The hotel Moulin Vert is in Montparnasse area -a lively area, with a lot of cinemas, theaters, cafes, etc...
