Cheap hotel in Rome

I am going to travel in Rome. I appreciate if you could introduce hotels or guest house at the rate under 50 USD per night for single room?

Hi ,
I stayed at the Pensione Panda in March and found it to be clean, nicely appointed, and convenient. Staff was nice and helpful as well. It was the first time that I shared a bathroom, but there were literally two next door to my room and they were also kept tidy. Quarters can be very tight -which was it's only decernable drawback. It is located in the Spanish steps area and cost about $50-60 a night.

Try www.eurocheapo.com and then the city. You can also post on lonely planet(shouldn't say that here)
one more: www.bugeurope.com and then the city

You could try Hotel Clarin in Rome. The rooms were quite small though (but as a single you may find ok). Some rooms front the street, and are quite noisy, others a courtyard, which of course is much quieter (though these rooms appear to be smaller).

Location wise this hotel was very good as it was in Via Palermo right behind the Via Nazionale and the desk clerks were very helpful. Breakfast was included and was a standard buns and jam/croissant affair.

www.web-rome-hotels.com/Lodging/Clarin.htm

Incidentally- I located Pensione Panda on Eurocheapo.com. I don't suggest many of the hotels listed by eurocheapo, but I dp recommend Panda. Tim

If you plan on getting a rest, don't stay at Smeraldo Roma... we were there last month & it was awful...

Hope it works out for you but don't forget you definitely get what you pay for. Please let us know if you actually find a "fabulous" place for this amount in Rome or anywhere else.

Bootman4U,
We live in the information age, so I say utilize all the sources available and get the most for your Euro. Many times you get less than what you pay for and sometimes (if smart and tenacious) you get more than what you pay for. Have hunting. Tim
