Hi Virginia,

Than you so much for replying and giving more details. We want safe, clean, near tube stop . . . mismatched furniture will not be a problem.

Another reader who's stayed there also replied to me directly and has stayed there 5-6 times. Hers and your recommendation is enough for me. I'll write and see if we can book something.

Thanks again . . . and feel free to write me directly . . . just take out the nospam part of my address.

Sandy

I had a flat in London. It took the Automobile Club forty minutes to respond!

Very interesting, Virginia, and the rates look quite reasonable. Is Flat 15 the "small studio" (290 p.s. per week in summer) or the "studio" (340, ditto)? The website doesn't make clear the difference between them except to suggest that the bathroom in the latter is "suitable for couple and a baby"!

Do these flats on Collingham have microwaves? Anyone know this for sure?

Flat 15 is the one-bedroom at 490 a week in summer. The small studio is very small; you really have to like your companion. The larger studio could fit a small child in addition to the parents. The one-bedroom would sleep three, full-sized people easily -- four in a pinch. We had 10 adults for wine and cheese without any toes being crushed.

I have never seen a microwave but the one-bedroom flats have full kitchens with four-burner cooktop and full-sized conventional electric oven.

One note; lighting in these apartments is quite low level. If you really like to read at night, as I do, you might want to bring a battery operated book light.
