My wife and I, and two friends have eaten at http://www.restaurant-chartier.com/w...filsdesans.php.
Great food and service.
Decent prices for Dinner. Not cheap, but decent. There are some interesting Passages in that area that are great to explore.
If there on Friday, look at Jazz y Jazz. Decent food and great service and they have a live band that evening. Usually Jazz. Go figure!! It is on the corner of Av. de la Porte de Montmartre and Rue René Binet. It is brand new. It has been open about 6 months.

Chartier is "an experience." You do not go there for good food (it's passable, it's plain, but nothing to write home about...a good deal for what you get at the price). I also wouldn't characterize the service as "great." It's more like the stereotypical view Americans have of French waiters....in a hurry, brusque, not wanting to deal with foreigners, etc. I speak French, so can give it back to them as well as they dish it out to me, but some American (in particular) travelers might not be so comfortable there.
