Cheap B&B Florence
Took one of those cheap fall fares. A lot of the suggestions I have already received from folks are sold out. Can anyone suggest a location or actual lodging. I am looking for dirt cheap but safe and clean.
Thanks |
Last Feb my wife and I stayed at Casa Rabbatti, which is a small (4 rooms) placed recommended by Rick Steves. We paid EUR 47 for what was supposed to be a double with shared bath. (We were upgraded to the quad with private bath for the same price.) The owners are extremely friendly and it's like staying with family. Their email is [email protected], ph 055-212-393. Enjoy your trip. Paul |
Take a look at the Hotel Aldini:
http://florence.italy.allwebhotels.c...l/4834/intl/en They are offering some very good specials; it looks like less than 100 euros if you are staying 4 nights. We stayed there two years ago in the room that is shown with the little pink ceramic stove; ask for that room. It was very large. I got the recommendation from Cheap Sleeps. It is in the block that borders the Duomo square, so you can actually see the duomo from some rooms, I'm sure. The breakfast was simple, but included. It was very clean. I will stay there next time I am in Florence. |
Hi Sarah,
We stayed at the B&B Peterson. |
Thanks Ira SAME SARAH HERE Peterson's is booked. Just talked to a friend who told to just go and I would get a better rate once I was there. He said he went in January and got a 3 star for $35. Could shoot him because he does not remember the name. Still it is great to get references from others.
One friend stayed at Bavaria but I went to reviews and someone said they had bed bugs. Hard to know if that was a troll or if it was real. My friends stayed in the double rooms and they thought they were great. They usually don't rough it that much so I repect their experience. |
Sarah,
Have you checked any of the last minute websites? For example, www.laterooms.com and www.lastminute.com can offer decent hotels at lower rates. |
Dei Mori. www.bnb.it/deimori/
|
Thanks Tess I did know those sites
Dori thank you also. Really helps to get tried and true methods from people. |
And I forgot to mention one other good website for inexpensive accommadations ... EuroCheapo ... www.eurocheapo.com. For example, list a 1 star, the Cristina Hotel for 47 eur (single, bathroom down hall) or also the 2 star, Hotel Aldini.

Sarah, try the following site:
http://www.johanna.it The "Residenza JOHANNA I" is quoted from 48-57 Euro for a single, but they might even go lower for a longer stay. It's a good, quiet area. I went by last November to check out the location and am hoping to stay there next year. FYI - I just read a newspaper article that said bedbugs are becoming a problem in hotels. While I'm fairly low maintenance, just the idea that a hotel might have them is a tad offputting. |
