I live in NYC and have to be near Strasbourg, in Eastern France, for a wedding on July 1st. I would like to leave NYC between 25-29 June and come back around July 10-12. I will then be heading to Vancouver for 4 weeks.
I have been searching for affordable air tickets but the best option so far is Newark-Frakfurt for 750 USD (I would like to find something cheaper, if possible).
I can fly to any nearby city (I will rent a car), like Paris, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Bern, Brussels, etc... I have even thought about London and then taking a flight to France from there.
Any opinions? Thank you very much for your help.

Buy the ticket! If you read the posts then you will see that most folks are having trouble getting tickets under $1,000!

There's probably a remote chance that some fare sale could begin, but it sure doesn't look likely. I had been waiting to buy our tickets to Europe next month and the lowest fare actually increased over $300 in the course of a couple weeks. With the price of fuel doing what it is, I would jump on that 750 fare quickly.

I agree with CarolA that the price you quoted is less than most folks are finding.

Try using www.itasoftware.com to look for best prices on various days. There is an option on the website that allows you to see the cheapest ticket for up to a 30 day period to help you decide which days to fly.

We just got Washington DC to Amsterdam for $652 about a week ago for the end of June. Keep your eyes open and act quickly. Set a reasonable affordable price for your target--when you see it take it. Don't think about it.

I had set $675 as a price we could live with--when I saw this one, we had the tickets printed out within 10 minutes.

Doesn't sound too bad to me; I'd grab it. I'm looking at $1200-$1400 range right now (from Iowa to Italy).

Buy it NOW with no regrets. I just paid $3,250 for two tickets to Europe this summer. Airfares are outrageous this year - grab this and find a way to save on other aspects of the trip.

Thanks for the answers. I have used the software and found some options NYC-Europe and then Europe-Vancouver, ranging from 1000-1200. Maybe better than 750 USD NYC-Frankfurt-NYC. Do you know any other good options for NYC-Europe-Vancouver???
